Globetrotter Catania rooms is located in the heart of the historical centre of Catania in Sicily. It’s next to the old fish market “A Piscaria”, 300 metres from the Duomo Square. Behind the guest house you will find the Ursino Castle and further down the street there is the greek theatre. Roman amphitheatre and the famous Via Crociferi with Bellini’s Home are also at the walking distance. Via Etnea begins from the Duomo Square which is the most important street with several churches built in late baroque period (World heritage UNESCO) where you can go shopping during the day. In the same street of the B&B there are many bars and reastaurants open even 24h.
The guest house is located 4 km from the airport, 1 km from the railway station, 500 metres from the port, 2 km from the beach, 30 minutes from Etna, 50 minutes from Taormina and Siracusa.
Where we are and how to reach the Globetrotter Catania rooms
by car, you must take the porto-centro exit from the main highways. You will reach the entrance of Catania in a square in front of the harbour named Piazza Alcalà-Borsellino. Following the map above you will turn on the left in Via Alcalà and soon on the right in via Cristoforo Colombo, then on the left on via Plebiscito. After 200 metres turn on the right on via Grimaldi and go on with the castle in your left side where you will see a small church in a square. In front of the castle entrance take the small street which is via San Sebastiano then turn on the right via Transito and the right again via Auteri till to n.40. You will see a yellow building which is the Globetrotter c<tania rooms in Vicolo della Lanterna.
We recommend you to arrive to the Globetrotter after 13:30 and before 19:40 because you can difficuties to find a parking space. The fish market close at that particular hour. In the evening all restaurants around open their terrace and there are limited parking places.
From airport you can catch the Alibus every 25 minutes to get to the city center (from 6:00 till 24:00). You reach the historical centre in about 15 minutes and you can stop at “ARCHI bus stop). Walk to the Duomo Square then via Garibaldi, via Auteri n. 40 (vicolo della Lanterna 14 (10 minutes walking).
From the railway station you have to get a bus, (431-439-427) which will bring you to the Duomo Square in 10 minutes, then go to Mazzini’s Square and Via Auteri 40-Vicolo della Lanterna 14 (5 minutes walking).
